Marcado 28 is an artisanal tequila brand rooted in ten generations of tradition. Crafted in collaboration with top chef Michael Voltaggio and renowned tattoo artists, it emphasizes heritage, craftsmanship, and individuality. Made from 100% Blue Weber agave, it’s a pure, additive-free expression of Mexican culture, blending tradition and artistry in every bottle.
The Real OG’s of Tequila
Bruno's family has cultivated their agave fields for ten generations, becoming one of the most iconic families in tequila. Their great-great-grandmother, Doña Gabriela De La Peña, created the Reposado category, significantly shaping tequila culture.
Marcado 28 defies the trend of fast, mass-produced tequila by crafting small-batch, premium tequila using hand-selected, 100% Blue Weber agaves from the Highlands of Jalisco. The agaves are slow-cooked using traditional methods to extract natural sweetness. Distilled at Auténtica Distillery (NOM 1502), the tequila is pure and additive-free, using only pristine water, agave, and yeast.
A Chef Leaves His Mark
Chef Michael Voltaggio's determination and expertise have earned him top accolades, including a Michelin star and "Top Chef" title. Collaborating with the Marcado 28 family in Jalisco, he brings his refined palate to shape the tequila’s flavor, honoring traditional methods. Known for his culinary talent and inked storytelling, Voltaggio’s tattoos reflect his passion and defiance, like his early Morton Salt girl tattoo reminding cooks to "SALT THE FOOD." As a Food Network star, he continues to innovate, blending culinary experiences with fashion, music, and art, embodying the bold spirit of Marcado 28.
The Story of Our Ink
The Marcado 28 Blanco label, designed by tattoo artist Billy Baca, blends Southwest and Mexican heritage, inspired by Tex Mex culture. It features an Alebrije—a colorful, mythical creature symbolic of Mexican folk art. The design includes a sugar skull for Day of the Dead, a sunburst halo, and elements like prickly pear and agave, representing resilience and tequila’s roots.
The Marcado 28 Reposado label, created by tattoo artist El Sando, depicts Mayahuel, the Aztec goddess of agave. Surrounded by mystical energy, she symbolizes life and fertility, with tequila as her gift. Drunken rabbits and butterflies in the design represent communication between the living and the dead.
